Our privacy promise

  • No image ever leaves your device
    Detection, scoring and redaction all happen inside this browser tab.
  • No analytics on your image
    We do not log file names, sizes, dimensions, or detection results.
  • No persistent storage of images
    Closing the tab clears everything. We don't write images to IndexedDB, cookies, or remote storage.
  • Works offline (after first load)
    Once models are cached, you can disconnect the network and keep using the app.
  • EXIF metadata stripped on export
    Re-encoding through canvas removes GPS coordinates and camera identifiers.
  • Open and verifiable
    Open the DevTools Network panel — you should see zero outgoing image requests.

1. Who We Are

Datablurai ("we", "us", "our") is operated by KuangYuan Lin as an independent sole proprietorship based in Chiayi County, Taiwan, and provides an AI-powered image privacy checker and automatic redaction tool. For the purposes of the GDPR, KuangYuan Lin is the data controller. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our website and services (the "Service").

2. Information We Collect

Images you process: Your images are processed locally in your browser and are never uploaded to our servers.

Account information: If you create an account, we collect your email address and authentication identifiers from your sign-in provider.

Payment information: Payments are processed by our payment provider (PayPal). We receive transaction metadata such as order ID, amount, and country, but we do not store full card details.

Usage data: We collect aggregated, non-image usage data such as page views, feature events, browser type, and approximate location (derived from IP) via privacy-respecting analytics.

Cookies & local storage: We use essential cookies for authentication and local storage for application state. See Section 8 below.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
  • To process purchases and manage your credit balance.
  • To communicate with you about your account, transactions, and support requests.
  • To detect, prevent, and respond to fraud or abuse.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

4. Legal Bases (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process personal data under the following legal bases:

  • Contract — to deliver the Service you requested.
  • Legitimate interests — to secure, improve, and analyze the Service.
  • Consent — for optional analytics or marketing where required.
  • Legal obligation — to meet accounting, tax, and regulatory duties.

5. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

  • Service providers — hosting, authentication, payments (PayPal), analytics — bound by data-processing agreements.
  • Legal authorities — when required by valid legal process.
  • Successors — in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.

6. International Transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses to protect cross-border transfers.

7. Data Retention

We retain account and transaction data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service and meet legal obligations. You can request deletion at any time (see Section 9). Images you process are never retained because they never leave your device.

8. Cookies & Tracking

We use strictly necessary cookies (authentication, session) and limited analytics cookies. You can disable non-essential cookies through your browser settings. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.

9. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Delete your account and associated personal information.
  • Restrict or object to certain processing.
  • Receive a portable copy of your data.
  • Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting prior processing.
  • Opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information (we do not sell or share for cross-context behavioral advertising).
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

10. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

11. Security

We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Service. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance.

13. Verify It Yourself

  1. Open your browser DevTools (F12) and switch to the Network tab.
  2. Filter by Img and Fetch/XHR.
  3. Upload an image and run a scan. You should see zero requests carrying your image payload.
