Security at Datablurai

A plain-language summary of how we protect your data and what you can verify yourself.

This page is maintained by Datablurai to answer common security and privacy questions. It describes app-visible controls and current practices. It is not a third-party certification and does not claim compliance with any specific audit framework (e.g. SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI DSS).

How we protect your data

  • Images stay on your device
Detection, scoring, and redaction run inside your browser tab. Your images are never uploaded to our servers, never cached on our backend, and never sent to a third party.
  • Account authentication
Sign-in uses email and Google OAuth via our managed backend (Lovable Cloud). Passwords — when used — are hashed by the backend; we do not see or store plaintext credentials.
  • Payments handled by PayPal
All credit purchases are processed by PayPal. Card numbers, CVV, and billing details are entered on PayPal's hosted checkout — we never see or store them.
  • What we do store
Your account email, your credit balance, and transaction metadata from PayPal (order ID, amount, country). No image data, no detection results.

Verify it yourself

  1. Open your browser DevTools (F12) and switch to the Network tab.
  2. Filter by Img and Fetch/XHR.
  3. Upload an image and run a scan — you should see zero outgoing requests carrying your image bytes.
  4. Disconnect from the network after the page loads — detection and redaction still work.

Data retention & deletion

Account email, credit balance, and PayPal transaction metadata are retained for as long as your account is active or as needed to meet tax and accounting obligations. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal information at any time by emailing support@datablurai.com. Because your images never leave your device, there is nothing image-related to delete on our side.

We rely on the following third parties to operate the Service. They receive only the data needed for their specific function.

Reporting a vulnerability

Please do not publicly disclose the issue before we have had a reasonable opportunity to investigate and remediate.

Shared responsibility

  • Use a strong, unique password (or sign in with Google) and keep your account email secure.
  • Always review the redacted output before sharing it — automated detection is not perfect.
  • Follow our Acceptable Use Policy.
